Today’s Throwback Video of the Day is [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Nixons[/lastfm]’ “Sister.”
Too bad we don’t like our sister enough to write her a song.
Formed in Oklahoma City and led by singer/guitarist Zac Maloy, The Nixons found success in 1996 with their single “Sister.” It was a crossover hit, peaking at No. 11 on Billboard‘s Modern Rock Tracks chart and landing in the Top 40 on the Hot 100. “Sister” was featured on the band’s first full-length album, Foma.
In 2000, after a brief tour to support their fourth album, The Latest Thing, The Nixons went on hiatus. Today, Zac Maloy is a writer/producer living in Nashville and has worked with such artists as [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Carrie Underwood[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Our Lady Peace[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Daughtry[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Bowling for Soup[/lastfm].
